The sustainable Palms Residence designed by Marmol Radziner Prefab. This home consists of 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a living room/dining room, a double height kitchen with an operable skylight, an office, and 700 additional square feet of outdoor living space. Large expanses of glass on the southern side of the structure fill the home with natural light and connect the interior and exterior spaces.


The home includes a variety of green features including, a recycled steel frame, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS), Triple-Pane insulating glass, eco-friendly materials, Energy Star-rated appliances, and natural cooling features. The home was produced in the MRP factory, substantially reducing the environmental impact of its construction. The home includes custom walnut casework in the living room and kitchen, concrete floors on the first floor, and eco-timber hickory floors on the second floor. The bed rooms have built-in beds and additional casework. The exterior of the home is finished with cedar siding. A series of screening techniques, including landscaping, fencing, and louvered panels provide shelter from the street while retaining the open feel of the home. | Marmol Radziner
